Four Ways to Make Your House a Home:
First, Congratulations on your new home! If you managed to buy a house during a pandemic- well, you can pretty much do anything! But now it’s time to make that house a home….but first let me get started on the dressing.
As I was saying…. I have some food for thought to help you get started on making your new house a home:
Unpack – it takes time – and it’s so easy to put off, but do a little every day until your house starts to feel like a home.
Let there be light! – Lack of lighting has a way of making a house feel uninviting – so throw open those shades, lift the blinds, and install some high hats with dimmers so you can adjust the light to your mood.
Stock the kitchen! – We all know the kitchen is THE MOST IMPORTANT room in the home – so fill up that fridge, stock the pantry and find a place for your pots, pans, plates, utensils and cook- books. Nothing makes a house feel more homey than a home cooked meal.
Take Your Time – the best part of buying a home is making it your own. And sometimes the secret ingredient to feeling at home in your new house is time. Take it, you’ll be there a while.
