Sage and Sausage Stuffing and Your Home’s Equity

You’re gonna love this stuffing AND my tips about finding your home’s equity! This stuffing recipe has been a staple at my Thanksgiving table for the past 21 years. The only thing I changed from the original Williams Sonoma recipe is that I add sausage. Make sure to use fresh sage and fresh bread from a local bakery — your guests will thank you!

Ingredients:

  • 8 Tbsp. (1 stick) of unsalted butter

  • 1 1/2 c. finely chopped onion (plus more as needed)

  • 1 1/2c. finely chopped celery

  • 1 lb. plain Italian sausage

  • 8 c. dried bread cubes (either country white or sourdough)

  • 3 Tbsp. finely chopped sage (plus more as needed)

  • 1/2 finely chopped flat leaf parsely (plus more as needed)

  • 1 Tsp. salt (plus more as needed)

  • 1 Tsp. freshly ground pepper (plus more as needed)

  • 1/2 to 1 c. turkey or chicken broth

Here’s How to Do It:

To make the stuffing start by melting butter in a fry pan, add chopped onion and chopped celery until wilted.

Next brown loose Italian sausage. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine dry bread cubes, fresh sage, fresh flat-leaf parsley, salt and pepper.

Add more melted butter, cooked sausage and broth. Mix well to combine.

Place stuffing in a buttered oven proof pan and warm in the oven.  Watch me make this stuffing here!

Your Home’s Equity

To know how much equity, you have in your current home, you must know how much money you have paid towards your loan & the market value of your home. Once you know about how much money you could expect to walk away with from the sale of your home, THEN and only then can you know what you can afford to purchase. The whole process is as simple as a DM & a login. But first, let’s make some delicious sage and sausage stuffing.

First, login to your mortgage company's account and see what you've paid towards the loan so far.

Then, contact me, your favorite real estate agent, and I'll run a market analysis on your home and give you a good ballpark range of what your home would likely sell for.

From my kitchen to yours, now that’s Thanksgiving!
