  • 1 quart strawberries hulled and quartered (about 1 pound)

  • 1/2 small red onion very thinly sliced

  • 3/4 cup raw pecans

  • 3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese buy the block-style feta, not pre-crumbled;

 For the dressing:

 In a mason jar add:

  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard

How You Can Potentially Lower Your Taxes

If it's been a while since you last had your home appraised or sold, you may be wondering how much your property is currently worth. This information can be valuable for a number of reasons - from understanding your home equity to potentially reducing your property taxes. Luckily, there's an easy way to get a good estimate of your home's value without needing to pay for a full appraisal.

The key is to reach out to a local real estate agent and request a Comparative Market Analysis, or CMA for short. A CMA is an in-depth report that examines recently sold homes in your immediate neighborhood that are similar in size, age, condition and features to your own property. By analyzing the final sale prices of these "comparable" homes, the agent can provide you with a realistic estimate of what your home would likely sell for on today's market.

This CMA information can be incredibly useful, especially when it comes to the topic of property taxes. If the CMA indicates that your home is currently worth less than the assessed value your local tax assessor has on file, you may have a solid case to request a reduction in your annual property tax bill. It's essentially free money in your pocket each year - all you have to do is take the initiative to get that CMA.

So if you're curious about your home's worth but don't have the budget for a full appraisal, be sure to connect with a local real estate agent. A quick CMA could uncover significant savings on your property taxes - it's definitely worth taking the time to find out.
